About ProACT Training Courses

Autism, Discrimination and the Law (3 hours)

Course Overview

People on the autism spectrum often find themselves discriminated against.  This maybe direct discrimination such as not being offered a position in a workplace or more subtle such as finding it difficult to access a particular service or environment.

This course is ideal for anyone on the autism spectrum or people who support them.  The course will identify the nature of discrimination and how people on the autism spectrum are often discriminated against.  Our trainer will discuss the law around disability discrimination, particularly the Equality Act 2010 alongside suggestions for reasonable adjustments and how to ask for them.

Our experienced trainer has nearly 20 years’ experience working as a specialist in the field of autism and behaviour.  He uses a combination of short talks, video, workshop activities and group discussion to suit a range of learning styles and will happily welcome questions and offer supportive strategies throughout the course.
